En segelduk i vind rör sig för snabbt för att ögat ska hinna läsa formen. Den rörelsen vill jag fånga och frysa. Mitt förslag för Amiralitetshuset är ett segel av stål och gjutet glas. En stålstomme vrider sig uppåt och kröker sig som en duk som just fångat vind, och på den sitter gjutna glasskivor i olika vinklar och färger. Några skivor lutar ut som ett skydd. På håll är det vinden själv, gjord synlig. På nära håll är det färgen och det jag gjutit in i glaset.A sail in the wind moves too fast for the eye to read its form. That movement is what I want to catch and freeze. My proposal for Amiralitetshuset is a sail of steel and cast glass. A steel armature twists upward and curves like a cloth that has just caught wind, and on it sit cast glass plates at different angles and colours. A few plates lean out as a shelter. From a distance it is the wind itself, made visible. Up close it is the colour and what I have cast into the glass.

Vind genom en duk är den flyktigaste rörelse jag känner, och glas det mest permanenta och ömtåliga materialet jag arbetar i. Luften som formade duken är borta. Formen blir kvar.Wind through cloth is the most fleeting movement I know, and glass the most permanent and fragile material I work in. The air that shaped the cloth is gone. The form remains.

PlatsenThe place

Amiralitetshuset stod färdigt 1650 för flottans överstyrelse. Seglet bar människor, frön, spannmål och berättelser till och från Skeppsholmen, och vinden finns kvar när seglen är borta. Varje skiva gjuter jag i platsens egna element, dess färger och det som en gång rördes genom den. Verket står på grusgården mot Af Chapman, så att man ser det frusna seglet och det riktiga skeppet i samma blick.Amiralitetshuset was completed in 1650 for the navy's high command. The sail carried people, seeds, grain and stories to and from Skeppsholmen, and the wind remains when the sails are gone. I cast each plate in the island's own elements, its colours and what once moved through it. The work stands on the gravel yard facing Af Chapman, so the frozen sail and the real ship are seen in one glance.
